The Woman at the Well: Seen and Known

A Samaritan woman comes to a well at noon, alone, likely avoiding the crowds because of her reputation. Jesus, who by the customs of the day “shouldn’t” even speak to her, asks her for a drink.

What follows is one of the longest conversations Jesus has with anyone in the Gospels.

He knows everything about her, and still stays, and still offers her “living water.”
