Facing Fear
Overcoming the paralyzing grip of terror and anxiety.
Have you ever felt your heart race and your stomach drop when facing an uncertain future? Fear convinces us that we are completely alone, unprotected, and destined for failure. It locks us into a mental prison, making us feel helpless against the storms of life.
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Isaiah 41:10
This verse provides a firm foundation when your world feels like it is shaking. God does not just command us to stop fearing; He gives us the exact reason why we can let it go. The creator of the universe promises His personal presence, meaning you never have to face a threat in isolation.
Furthermore, the passage promises active rescue through three specific actions: strengthening, helping, and upholding. When your own strength fails, the scripture guarantees that God is sustaining you with the right hand of His righteousness. You do not need to muster up personal bravery when you can rely on His steady hold.
Today, the moment a fearful or anxious thought enters your mind, pause immediately. Breathe deeply and repeat this phrase out loud three times: “I am not alone; God is holding me right now.”
I am not alone, and I am not the one holding me up.
Isaiah 41:10
